Waiver request will need to be submitted & approved for 2013 birth year player to play at 8U level. If 2013 birth year player approved to play at 8U level, due to system limitations, 10U fee will need to be paid initially & then a refund of fee difference will be issued after registration is completed.
Equipment: Bases, balls and catcher's equipment (supplies limited) provided.
Girls new to the traveling softball program will be required to purchase their own Batting Helmet with facemask & chin strap (ASA approved), Defensive Fielding Mask, Fastpitch Bat (properly sized), Glove & Cleats (non-metal). Optional items: Sliding pad/Sliding shorts. Check out our website for further information on sizing.
If you are purchasing a Helmet, we highly recommend our standard batting helmet (a Rip-It Vision Pro: Gloss-Home-Navy). **Please wait to purchase batting helmet until more information is provided at try-on event.
*Depending on vendor availability, these items may be available to order/purchase through our program at February uniform try-on event (date still TBD):
Contact Ryan Law, Uniform & Apparel Coordinator with any questions (firstname.lastname@example.org) re: helmet or defensive fielding mask.
If available to order at uniform try-on event, equipment will be delivered to player as soon as arrives.
Try-outs: Mandatory tryouts 10U and 12U for the Spring/Summer Season will be held on February 18 (12U) and Friday, February 25 (10U) at the Irish Sports Dome in Rosemount starting around 5:15pm. This will replace our normal Winter Dome training those 2 nights. More details will follow. (8u will not need to try-out)
Traveling Softball holds tryouts to allow participants to demonstrate their abilities at an intermediate to advanced level of play. Tryouts are held to help determine team placement for the Spring/Summer League. Players are evaluated by neutral parties who rate players, and teams are formed accordingly. More information on team placement can be found in our by-laws on our website. 10U and 12U WILL have a formal tryout score for pitching and catching. More to come on scheduling for the pitching/catching times.
Fee: The fee for the 10U and 12U Spring/Summer season includes: Registration to Rosemount Traveling Softball, League play, 2 Rosemount-hosted tournaments, 2 outside tournaments and full uniforms (pants, socks, belt and jersey). Uniform Try-Ons will take place in early February
10U & 12U - $375
8U - $125 (Includes uniform, League play, and 1 Rosemount-hosted tournament and State tournament)
*Please note: Once rosters are released, program will not issue refunds.
Coaches/Assistant Coaches/Team Managers: Traveling Softball is always looking for parents to help out in the program. Coaches and Assistant coaches that apply will be reviewed and voted on by the Traveling Board. All coaches and assistant coaches will need to clear background checks and take concussion training. More information will be sent after registration closes.
Volunteer Requirements: Parents in all age groups (8U thru 14U) are required to work a set amount of hours at one of the Rosemount hosted tournaments (potentially including Tri-County States.) In 2021, this requirement was 7 hours per child (max 14 hours per family) in the program. The requirement for the upcoming Spring/Summer Season has not yet been determined. To ensure the hours are worked, all parents are required to provide a 'volunteer' check in the amount of $300 per child. A volunteer check is required for your daughter to participate in traveling softball activities but will NOT be cashed if the required volunteer hours are completed.
