2021 Spring/Summer Season Info

2021 Spring/Summer Traveling Fastpitch Softball Details


14U teams were formed in the fall, if you have questions email 

8U, 10U and 12U Registration:  Approximately January 4th - February 9th

Season:  April thru July

Participants:  Girls

Eligibility:  Ages 8U-12U – open to residents that will feed into Rosemount High School (RHS)

Age is determined by birthday on or before January 1 in the year of the summer season. Proof of age is required to participate in tournaments.



12U - Girls Born in 2008 & 2009

10U - Girls Born in 2010, 2011 & 2012

~ Girls must be 8 yrs old by Dec 31, 2020 to play 10U

  8U - Girls Born in 2012 & 2013

~ Girls must be 6 years old by Dec 31, 2020 to play 8U


Equipment:  Bases, balls and catcher's equipment (supplies limited) provided.  Players must purchase their own batting helmet (which MUST be a Rip-It Vision Pro: Gloss-Home-Navy), glove, cleats (non-metal), bat, and sliding pad/sliding shorts. Defensive face masks are highly recommended but not mandatory.


Try-outs:  Mandatory tryouts 10U and 12U for the Spring/Summer Season will be held on February 19th and 26th at the Irish Sports Dome in Rosemount starting around 5:15pm. This will replace our normal Winter Dome training those 2 nights. More details will follow. (8u will not need to try-out)

Traveling Softball holds tryouts to allow participants to demonstrate their abilities at an intermediate to advanced level of play. Tryouts are held to help determine team placement for the Spring/Summer League.  Players are evaluated by neutral parties who rate players, and teams are formed accordingly. More information on team placement can be found in our by-laws on our website. For 10U and 12U this year we will NOT have a formal tryout score for pitching and catching. We will have pitchers and catchers do an informal tryout for coaches to view and take notes. More to come on scheduling for the pitching/catching times.


Fee:   The fee for the 10U and 12U Spring/Summer season includes:  Registration to Rosemount Traveling Softball, League play, 1 Rosemount-hosted tournaments, 2 outside tournaments and full uniforms (pants, socks, belt and jersey). Uniform Try-Ons will take place in early February at a location TBD. (Time slots for age groups to be communicated at a later time)

Batting helmet with face mask must be Rip-It Vision Pro: Gloss-Home-Navy. These are part of the required uniform but paid for as an additional cost. Rip-It batting helmets will be available for sizing at uniform try-ons. Rip-It helmets, softball bags, additional socks/pants/jerseys may be purchased at an additional cost at uniform try-ons.

10U & 12U - $375

8U - $150 (Includes uniform, League play, and 1 Rosemount-hosted tournament and State tournament)

Coaches/Assistant Coaches/Team Managers: Traveling Softball is always looking for parents to help out in the program. Coaches and Assistant coaches that apply will be reviewed and voted on by the Traveling Board. All coaches and assistant coaches will need to clear background checks and take concussion training. More information will be sent after registration closes.

Volunteer Requirements:    Parents in all age groups (8U thru 14U) are required to work a set amount of hours at one of the Rosemount hosted tournaments (potentially including Tri-County States.)  In 2019, this requirement was 7.5 hours per child in the program.  The requirement for the upcoming Spring/Summer Season has not yet been determined.  To ensure the hours are worked, all parents are required to provide a 'volunteer' check in the amount of $300 per child. A volunteer check is required for your daughter to participate in traveling softball activities but will NOT be cashed if the required volunteer hours are completed.
